Live Colour Analysis on The Laura Show
Recently I was a guest on the Laura Stewart Show and we filmed a live colour analysis.
This video walks you through the three step process I follow to help my clients discover their very best colours.
Laura is a TRUE SPRING, meaning that light, warm and bright colours harmonize best with her colouring. They make her skin appear more even and bright, while the soft cooler tones make her appear more washed out.
Colour analysis is not about restrictions and I am not a colour purist but I do believe their is so much power in knowing what colours give you the most life and radiance in your wardrobe, hair, makeup and jewelry.
Here is the video:
Here is an example of three different purples. What I look for is the colour that brightens and lifts her face, making it appear more even and flows with her colouring. The colour on the left is an Autumn Purple, while the undertone is correct for her ( she is warm) the colour is heavy, it drags the eye down to the colour and creates some heavy shadowing at her jawline. The purple on the right is Summer and the cool tones make her skin appear more dull. The Purple in the middle is from the Spring palette and it makes her skin appear much more even, the eye goes up to her face, dark circles are diminished and almost makes her look like she has foundation on because of the clarity in her skin.
Here we are looking at the neutrals from the Summer, Spring and Autumn palette. The Summer Grey definitely makes her skin more dull, adding greyness to the skin. The Autumn Brown is much closer, but adds some heavier shadowing to the skin in comparison to the lift Laura gets from the Spring Beige. Can you see how the shadowing lifts and her skin and eyes appear much brighter?
Let me know what you thought of this analysis? Could you see the differences?
